SE London Zine Fair 2014
It seems to be the season for zine fairs and print fairs, and here's another one, this time in South East London. We're not going to be there, sadly, but it looks like it's going to be really good. You can check their website here or tell them you're going via the Facebook event page.

Nottingham Zine Festival 2014
It feels like there are a load of exciting zine events for us to plug at the moment, so apologies if you're itching for more posts about new zines! We thought we'd give Nottingham Zine Festival a quick mention, though, as it's happening this Saturday! We're exhibiting a bit of the zine library collection and there should be a comfy area for you to put your feet up and read some of our amazing zines.
There's also loads of really good stalls, plus some sure-to-be inspirational speakers like Cherry Style and Chella Quint. If you're in the Nottingham area and you're at a loose end on Saturday, pop over and say hi!

Yorkshire Zine Weekend
Exciting zines news, everyone! The Yorkshire Zine Weekender is only a week and a bit away and, while all the stalls have been snapped up, we can guarantee that they'll both be well worth visiting. Two zine fairs in two days! Here's the lovely flippable poster for each event:
Tell them and everyone you know that you're going on Facebook.
Sadly we won't be at the Sheffield leg of the Yorkshire Zine Weekender, but I think that the Salford Zine Library film that Craig made in 2011 will be getting an airing at some point during the day. So go and check that out!
We'll be at this, although we'll be selling copies of our zine rather than exhibiting the zine library this time. Come and say hi, though! And we'll gladly take any donations for the library that you might have too.
Tell all your friends about the weekender, it's sure to be brilliant. I've just been looking at the list of people who have stalls over the weekend and salivating. I am definitely going to be coming home with a massive bundle of zines. See you there!

State of the 'Zine
What are you doing on October 13th? Cancel it. The people behind the brilliant Spiel Magazine and the super talented OWT Creative people have joined forces to organise a football zine fair and zine making workshop at the National Football Museum as part of the Manchester Weekender. Here's some blurb:
"Irreverent, insightful, crass and crude – during the 70’s and 80’s the Zine emerged as a key part of grassroots football culture and became a match day staple. To celebrate the unique footballing insight provided by lo-fi fan-publishers we are opening up the museum collections to the unique brand of analysis and polemic which characterised the football fanzine.
Football 'zines have always been DIY and using the tools of the zine-maker - typewriters, photocopiers & cut-out text - we are inviting visitors to produce their own football Zine engaging with the culture of fanzines and with insight from the museum archive.
A selection of contributions produced on the day will later be assembled into a limited edition print, for sale in the Museum shop."

You can find out more about the event by clicking here.
We're hoping to have some of the zine library's collection on display at the event, providing inspiration for budding zinesters taking part in the workshop. We've been getting lots of really cool football zines recently (Keep checking this blog/the shelves for new stuff!) and it'll be good for them to stretch their legs for an afternoon.
